Nomad pumps feature a reliable positive displacement design with intermeshing rotor and idler. The retrofittable design is also a major advantage because all Nomad Gear Pump parts are interchangeable with the leading brand. With cast housings available in seven connection port sizes and options for packing or mechanical seals, Nomad Gear Pumps are versatile and dependable for a wide variety of pumping applications in many different industries.

Nomad has a $2 million (USD) inventory at their Redlands, CA headquarters, $500,000 is used in tooling investment and they have a 15,000 square foot warehouse/assembly facility. JDA GLOBAL has procurement hubs in India, China and Mexico to ensure low-cost, high-quality products.

Nomad provides pump distributors and product users with state-of-the-art after-market parts. These include elastomer and non-elastomer parts for the leaders in the Air-Operated Double Diaphragm segment, including Wilden, Aro and Warren Rupp.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

At the heart of any Nomad Gear Pump is the internal gear set-up. Nomad pumps feature a positive displacement design, which is ideal for handling high-viscosity liquids and thus applicable in many different industries. Each pump is equipped with casings that you can position to meet common piping configurations. At the same time, they have only two mobile parts, which makes maintenance much easier.

How it Works

When liquid is pumped between the rotor and idler teeth, it travels easily through the pump using what Nomad calls the “gear within a gear” principle. The distinctive crescent shape helps divide the liquid and ultimately acts as a seal between the suction and discharge parts.

Once the pump head is nearly flooded as it is just about to force the liquid out of the discharge port. This is when the intermeshing gears of the idler and rotor form locked pockets. This assures ideal volume control. Then, the rotor and idler teeth mesh to completely form a seal that is equidistant from the discharge and suction ports. This seal then forces the liquid out of the discharge port.

Nomad Gear Pumps are available in several different models amidst their primary series of excellent pump lines.

NG-SERIES

NG-Series pumps are designed to keep costs down with minimal maintenance. They are built for either continuous or intermittent duty, and can be used for a variety of applications including transferring, circulating or service in general industrial or petroleum uses. There are many great features that set the NG-Series of Nomad pumps apart. First, you have the stuffing box. No matter which size pump you use, the stuffing box will accept packing, cartridge seals or component single mechanical seals without modifications.

The bearing housing of NG-Series pumps is threaded and offers a large diameter. This provides easy rotor end clearance adjustment, which compensates for viscosity, higher temperatures and overall wear. Its large diameter allows for cartridge mechanical seal installation (exception on NG-AK and NG-AL models). An internal relief valve is standard for pump protection.

The one-piece cast bracket is designed to minimize deflection on the shaft with a rigid foundation that also extends the life of seals and bearings. The pump’s casing has the ability to be rotated in 45-inch increments and eight different port positions.

NG-4195 SERIES

The NG-4195 Series of Nomad pumps are made for continuous or intermittent use. Primary applications include circulating, transferring or service at general industrial or petroleum facilities. They are available in a variety of sizes to adapt to your needs. However, all sizes of the NG-4195 pump are designed with a single mechanical seal.

The smaller-sized NG-4195 pumps can be connected directly to 1800 or 1200 RPM motors. The larger-sized pumps in this line can be connected to 1200 RPM motors.

NG-4195 pumps feature rotor end clearance that can be easily adjusted by rotating the threaded bearing housing. This can help minimize wear or compensate for high temperatures and varying liquid viscosities. An internal relief valve is a standard component to help protect the pump. A one-piece cast bracket keeps the seals and bearings lasting longer thanks to a more rigid pump foundation.

AFTER MARKET PARTS

Nomad and JDA GLOBAL offer a large list of after-market pump parts and accessories to help keep your pumps running at peak efficiency and lasting longer. Whether you need elastomer or non-elastomer parts, they have what you need. After-market parts include valve balls, valve seals, O-rings, Slyder rings, Tracker seals, gaskets, diaphragms and many other vital components for your Nomad pumps.
