Seal Support System: ANSI LITE
Liquid-lubricated dual mechanical seals require an external source of clean, cool lubricating fluid. The ANSI LITE barrier fluid reservoir system creates this enhanced sealing environment, enabling longer operational life for dual seals. The closed-loop system allows for monitoring of the inboard seal, noting changes in the ANSI LITE barrier fluid reservoir’s levels.
This patented design is a proven problem-solving solution which addresses two common problems, of radial shaft movement and the need to reduce excessive water flush consumption commonly found in process plants around the world. This design requires no modification to the existing rotating equipment.
The Flex-A-Flo device is designed to regulate flow and cut back on water consumption in double seal applications. The Flex-A-Flo monitors the temperature of the seal chamber while utilizing a thermally actuated valve that automatically removes hot barrier fluid liquid and keeps the seal running in its optimal environment. By doing this, the Flex-A-Flo maximizes water conservation in double seal applications where water is the barrier fluid and enters between the inboard seal and the outboard seal, and typically discharges to a drain.
