Cortech Engineering is hiring a Mechanical Design Drafter to join its growing family. This position is responsible for using Solidworks to model parts from drawings, create assemblies, maintain bills of materials, and create drawings suitable for fabrication. Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of manufacturing techniques, experience using Solidworks, and an extreme sense of urgency. Within 14 days:
• Demonstrate proficiency creating assemblies, BOMs, and solid models from drawings using Solidworks
Within 60 days:
• Organize and maintain our standard library of parts
• Demonstrate ability to perform and interpret the results of a finite element analysis

Major Job Functions
• Create of 3D solid models from 2D catalog drawings
• Acquire models from manufacturers or vendors for specified equipment
• Update and maintain a library of previously-used components
• Design and create Solidworks assemblies for packages that we sell using the correct mates
• Create and maintain BOMs for all projects
• Create fully dimensioned and toleranced drawings for top-level- and sub-assemblies
• Other duties as assigned
Computer Skills
• Microsoft Word: Intermediate
• Microsoft Excel: Intermediate
• Microsoft Outlook: Intermediate
• Adobe Acrobat: Advanced; experience with creating 3D PDFs desired
• Solidworks: Intermediate to Advanced; ability to create solid models from 2D drawings, ability to create variable-driven parts, ability to perform advanced mates
• AutoCAD: Beginner

• Education: Four-year degree from an accredited institution is required
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience is required; FSAE is acceptable
• Travel: < 5% travel is expected
